Iowa Falls, IA – Hansen Family Hospital is pleased to welcome board-certified surgeon Dominic Formaro, DO, FACOS, FACS to our organization. Dr. Formaro will lead our General Surgery Program, bringing full-time surgical care to Iowa Falls.
Dr. Formaro brings a wealth of surgical expertise to Hardin County, with specialized experience in minimally invasive, robotic, and abdominal surgery, including hernia repair, gallbladder, and general gastrointestinal procedures. He is also proficient in breast care (benign/malignant), soft tissue, colorectal procedures, and hiatal hernia repair. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Formaro has served in academic roles at Des Moines University as Assistant Professor of Surgery, Clinical Preceptor for medical students, and Course Director, focusing on surgical education and simulation.
Dr. Formaro is committed to advancing surgical care through precision, innovation, and compassionate patient-centered care, bringing over 15 years of experience to our organization. He completed his education at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2005 and his General Surgery residency at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center in 2010.
