Looking for Prenatal Care?

Our OB Share Care program in Iowa Falls provides prenatal care from confirmation of pregnancy up to 36 weeks. Dr. Tan and the other MercyOne North Iowa OB/GYN providers will continue prenatal care from 37 weeks through delivery in Mason City.

Gynecology Surgical Procedures

Cervical Cerclage
A cervical cerclage is a procedure to stitch the cervix closed during pregnancy, preventing preterm birth or second-trimester miscarriage due to cervical insufficiency.

Colposcopy
A colposcopy is a detailed exam to help identify precancerous or cancerous changes after an abnormal Pap smear or HPV test, often including biopsies for lab analysis.

D&C
A dilation and curettage (D&C) is a surgical procedure to remove tissue from inside the uterus.

Endometrial Ablation and Biopsy
An endometrial ablation is a procedure to reduce or eliminate heavy menstrual bleeding by destring the uterine lining; biopsies are taken before the procedure to check for precancer or cancerous cells and may be taken after the ablation if necessary.

Hysteroscopy
A hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure using a thin, lighted scope to view and treat problems inside the uterus.

Oophorectomy
An oophorectomy is a surgical procedure to remove one or both ovaries to treat disease or prevent cancer.

Small Abdominal Incisions
Small abdominal incisions involve the insertion of a thin scope through a small abdominal incision to view internal organs, helping to diagnose abdominal and pelvic issues. 

Tubal Ligation
A tubal ligation is a permanent surgical birth control method that blocks the fallopian tubes from egg fertilization.
