IOWA FALLS, IA — The Hansen Family Hospital Foundation is proud to announce the successful conclusion of its 2025 Summer Meal Program, which provided free, nutritious meals to children across the Iowa Falls-Alden community school district throughout the summer months.
Running from June 3rd to August 22nd, the program served 18,794 meals, ensuring that local youth had access to healthy food through the summer. The initiative was made possible through the support of dedicated staff, volunteers, and community partners.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support from our community,” said Noah Goedken, Hansen Family Hospital Foundation Director. “With the support of over 300 volunteers, we were able to serve more than 200 children in the Iowa Falls-Alden School District. During the summer months, food insecurity among children can spike significantly. Through this program, we served thousands of nutritious meals, helping ensure the children in our community had consistent access to food when school is not in session. It’s a measurable impact that reflects our commitment to health, equity, and well-being in our community.”
The Summer Meal Program is part of a nationwide effort supported by the USDA and local organizations to ensure that no child goes hungry when school is not in session.
